For Making Women Self Relaint

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, BSP has launched an innovative initiative aimed at making women self-reliant and offering them equal employment opportunities in society. The CSR department has consistently been committed to social welfare and women's empowerment, and this new venture marks another milestone in its efforts.

In collaboration with the Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR), Nava Raipur, BSP has launched a free Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving training programme aimed at training shortlisted economically disadvantaged women. This initiative not only aims to make women self-sufficient but also provides them with employment opportunities by enriching them with essential driving skills.

The driving training program, conducted with the support of IDTR, is designed to inculcate confidence in women by teaching them the four wheeler vehicle driving skills safely. The training encompasses vital aspects of road safety, traffic regulations, vehicle handling, and maintenance, ensuring that women are prepared to navigate the roads confidently. The IDTR, a joint venture between the Transport Department of the Chhattisgarh Government and Maruti Suzuki India, is focused on providing safe and effective training for both passenger and commercial vehicle drivers in the state.

Women’s contributions have been appreciated by several prominent figures, including Smt. Pratibha Agarwal, DIG (CISF), who commended the women for their efforts and motivated them to continue on the path of self-sufficiency. Smt. Monika Verma, the Municipal Commissioner of Risali, urged the trainees to focus fully on learning the skills required for safe driving and assured them that this initiative would help them lead better lives and set an example for others in society.

The training includes both theoretical and practical lessons, along with driving simulator training at CSR Complex Sector-5, followed by on-road car driving lessons at safer locations and roads, to ensure that women are fully equipped to handle different types of vehicles and manage emergency situations on the road. Furthermore, they receive detailed knowledge of traffic laws, accident prevention, and vehicle maintenance, which will ensure they are responsible and safe drivers.
